Healthy Fruits and Vegetables for Healthy Teeth

Posted .

If you are looking for more ways to keep your teeth healthy, you may consider adding some of these fruits and vegetables to your diet. These food groups have many items that can be of benefit to you, but we will focus on a few for now and describe their benefits.

Apples can provide cleaning benefits for your teeth. Because of their crunchy texture, they can take a little more effort to chew, which can generate more saliva. Saliva cleans leftover foods and various acids off your teeth, so bringing forth a little extra can help remove them even more.

Apples are not the only foods that can do this. Vegetables like carrots and celery are also chewy enough to encourage more saliva flow.

Further vegetables that can be helpful are spinach and kale. These leafy greens, as they are called, can be extra sources of calcium. Calcium is good for strengthening your teeth, as it is one of the building blocks of enamel.
